Lauren Albury
Registered Music Therapist, RMT
MMusThy. BMus.
Lauren is a passionate musician who graduated from her Master's in Music Therapy degree at the University of Melbourne in 2022. Prior to commencing her Masters, she also completed a Bachelor of Music, majoring in Classical Trumpet Performance at the Queensland Conservatorium. Whilst completing her degree, Lauren was performing regularly with many community groups as well as University Ensembles. Aside from being able to put her hand to most brass instruments, Lauren also enjoys playing the guitar, piano, and singing.

Outside of university, Lauren has performed with groups such as the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Queensland Pops Orchestra, and Brisbane Philharmonic Orchestra as well as solo cornet with the Brisbane Brass A Grade Band. She was also employed as the Head of Upper Brass at St Margaret’s Anglican College and the Head of Brass at Mt St Michael’s College.
As much as Lauren adores teaching and performing, she always knew her passion lay with helping others through music. She discovered it wasn’t the music-making and playing she loved most, but more so helping people reach their potential and goals in life through music!

Outside of work and university hours, Lauren enjoys travelling, playing team sports, climbing and hiking, listening to podcasts, and hanging out with friends. She also adores animals, including her own dog Murphy!
